Yes, we're about to get very scientific indeed and find out a great way to diagnose your skin type. Microscope and Petri dish not necessary. But seriously my lovely, just follow the simple instructions below to help you discover the current condition of your skin.
All you need to find out your current skin type are simply
Good Light (daylight is brutal, but perfect),
A Hand Mirror, A Full Set of pressure, texture & heat sensors (otherwise known as fingers!),
One Tissue,
Pen & Paper to jot down your findings.

Before You Start
Before analysing your skin give it a gentle cleanse, rinse well and skip the moisturizer. Leave your skin to rest for around 15 minutes. Leaving skin to rest for a few minutes allows it to return to its natural balance and gives you a better idea of its current state.
Carefully separate a layer of tissue and gently place on your face. Press the tissue onto your skin and leave for two minutes. Gently peel off and with the help of a lovely bright light examine the tissue for oily residue and jot down your findings.
Does an oily residue appear evenly throughout the tissue? If so, this indicates an overall oily skin type.
Does an oily residue appear only the forehead, nose & chin area? If so, this indicates a combination skin type.
No trace of oily residue at all. If so, this indicates a dry/sensitive skin type.

Now with lovely clean hands, gently run fingers over the skin. Make a note of the following -
Do any areas feel rough to the touch? If so, make a note of the area or areas.
Do any areas have an oily feel? If so, make a note of the area or areas.
Do you feel any lumps or bumps on the skin? If so, make a note of the area or areas.
